Studies show that, at a minimum, 25% of American adults were sexually abused as children. Many of those survivors repress those memories for decades, but trauma of this sort affects our minds, bodies, and spirits even though we have no conscious memory of it.
Most of this abuse did not occur in churches but in homes; it was not inflicted by strangers but by family members or acquaintances. And, for a variety of reasons, most survivors who are now adults did not tell anyone when they were abused as children. Silence was the rule across the board—in schools, medical offices, and churches—but that silence protected abusers and raised barriers to healing for survivors.
There are different paths to healing for survivors, and one such path lies through the truth that can be found in the Word of God, rightly interpreted and lovingly presented.
We are a tiny, brand-new organization but we are using our voices to proclaim freedom, restoration, health, and hope. We don’t have a lot of resources or programs yet, but we offer what we have without shame and with the confidence that God will raise up others to join us.
Our focus is on helping facilitate ministry to survivors. All good pastors desire the wholeness of their members, but most pastors are unaware of the extent of the damage inflicted on their people by the trauma of child sexual abuse and perhaps uncertain of what to do. We are here to help. Please click on other pages in this site for more information, or click CONTACT US to ask specific questions.
